See you at The Ajax Experience

17 comments on 347 words

I’ll be in Boston next week for The Ajax Experience thanks to a little help from my friends. I can’t wait to meet some of the guys who’ve helped me along the way and not to mention, I hear there will be a secret meeting involving some of the world best and brightest Javascript minds.

The talent pool is not going to be in short supply at TAE and among the talks I’m looking forward too are (in no particular order):

Well, I’m looking forward to a lot more of them, I’m just too lazy to list. The one thing I hope to see come across in the user experience talks is how Ajax can hurt user experience if used blindly and how the Ajax way is not always the best way. This sounds like what Aaron’s talks might cover.

Any of you going to be there?

I'm jealous. I seriously am. I was hoping to somehow arrange my way down there, but alas, I'll have to miss out. Sounds like it's going to be a great bunch of presentations.

Thats a shame Jonathan, I figured you'd be there. We'll catch up at another conference or when I make it back to Ottawa. :-)

    > Any of you going to be there? At $1400? I think I'd rather be in Hawaii...and I even live here (in Boston). I'll just read everyone's recap posts ;-)

I'll be there. Looks like a good show, but I'm a bit biased =). The spring show went really well, I'm hoping this one will top it.

It will be great to have you here. We are obviously excited about the show, the more exciting part being getting the community together. See you in a couple of days!

We've got a couple of live ones here. ;-) Thanks Dion and Rob, look forward to seeing you guys in Boston.

Well "Choosing a Javascript Library" sounds quite interesting - because that's one of my next tasks on my tasklist.

I'll be there, Justin. I'd love to say hi (maybe mend fences a bit after our last exchange regarding jQuery)

Yehuda: Hehe, sure. There was nothing personal, so we can skip the fence mending and get straight to the drinks. :-)

I'll be there.. and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm doing a talk on Unobtrusive Ajax.. which, I guess, is about how Ajax isn't always the best choice - or, at least, it doesn't need to be the only choice. I hope people find it interesting.

damn, a week without Caged to bug for help...maybe I should attend too just so I dont lose my mind during the this timeframe...haha. Just remember, if you can make cool stuff and out drink them, you win.

It wasn't worth the hassle of convincing those who have the power to let me leave for these few days (and having it be OK). As always I'm sure there'll be podcasts I'll be subscribing to in the future to catch up on what I'm missing. Have a great time Justin. I told Dan to have a round of beer for me :)

bq. The one thing I hope to see come across in the user experience talks is how Ajax can hurt user experience if used blindly and how the Ajax way is not always the best way. This sounds like what Aaron’s talks might cover. Dan's talk probably covers that, too, at least it did in EuroRailsConf. Man, I wish I could be there, too.

It was great hanging out with you @ TAE, Justin. You helped make it a truly memorable three days. Let's do it again sometime.

Aaron, the feeling is mutual. It was great to finally meet you, and we definitely have to do it again some day.

Hey, Too bad we didn't get to chat for longer; I was really impressed by LowPro, and the UJS talk definitely gave me a new appreciation for Prototype. Hopefully some of the LowPro stuff (esp. event handling stuff) will make its way into Prototype soon. Competition is good :-D
